Not many more new words yet today, but a map.

2007 NaNoWriMo 3250

"You're probably wondering where we've gone," said the dog. And he was too busy being overwhelmed by his surroundings to respond. "Just around the block--like I said," said the dog. In such a normal, ho-hum sort of way. And exactly that. Normal and ho-hum. There was something very casual and ho-hum in all its extraordinariness. He couldn't quite believe it, but it seemed to be worthy of a word out loud.

"Lovely," he said, and that was all.

An excerpt. Um, but it's really babbly right now. So please don't hold me to that. Okay? Okay.

Journal Page NaNoWriMo 2250

Journal Page NaNoWriMo 2250, originally uploaded by Terry Bain.

2250 words... which isn't many, though it might be because I insist on doing it all long-hand this year... and yes, sometimes I estimate the number of words on a page... if you want to complain about that, fine, you count 'em then...

I See...

I see. I guess. He was eating his sandwich. But the bread was getting soggy just like he knew it would. So he asked the dog if he'd like some of it.

MS Writer's Block

I sometimes think the thing that keeps me from writing is Microsoft Word. It contains too many gizmos and gadgets and modifications and complications. Why can it not be simpler?

If I write any nanowrimo stuff here, it will be with some other utility at my service. Perhaps an open office word processor. Or a text editor. Or Ecto.

Hey, Ecto might work. I'm writing in Ecto right now. That way I could upload things directly to this blog, when I wanted to.

Interesting idea. Hm.
